Dunton’s Almshouses have been part of Dedham’s history for more than 500 years. We are proud to continue providing safe, comfortable homes where older residents can enjoy independent living within a caring community. A peaceful and supportive community for people aged 65 and over in the heart of Dedham.
We hope every resident feels secure, respected, and truly at home here.
A Place to Feel at Home
A peaceful and supportive community for people aged 65 and over in the heart of Dedham. Duntons Almshouses provide comfortable, independent homes for older people who have a connection to the local area. Located on Crown Street in Dedham, the almshouses offer a quiet and friendly environment where residents can enjoy privacy, dignity, and peace of mind.
The almshouses have a long and proud history dating back to 1517, when Stephen Dunton gifted homes to local people in need. Today, the charity continues to provide safe and well-maintained accommodation for older residents within the community.
Independent Living with Support Nearby
Residents at Dunton’s Almshouses live independently in their own self-contained homes, each with modern kitchens, bathrooms, heating, and essential facilities.
